I liked the idea of Craft Reserve for the Artificer from Eberron and was thinking of doing the same thing for my wizard class in a homebrew setting. However, instead of giving them the craft reserve points directly from the class feature i thought it would be more balanced if they had to take a feat that would grant wizards that class feature.
Since i have never designed feats before, i would like to know what are the balancing issues that should be kept in mind when creating a feat that allows a wizard to have a pool of craft reserve (how much points ?) to create magic items instead of XP or is the fundamental of this concept is already unbalancing from the start ?
Oh, i have no intention of using the Artificer for my homebrew so i would like to listen more about your input about designing this feat...
