Ack! Keep getting logged out!

It used to be the case that EN-World would keep me "logged in" through an invisible cookie, hidden somewhere that I didn't need to see or know about. Those were the good old days.

Now, I get this "?s=blahblahblahblah..." thing in my URL. It doesn't last between posts (I have to re-log in), and it doesn't even last between clicks sometimes!

Is this a server change? If so, it's IMHO for the worse.

Nifft, make sure there is no "cyberstreet" in yout url. If you aren't coming in through "www.enworld.org/forums", you'll have problems.

Nooooo! When I go in through http://enworld.org/forums, I can't even log in! It gives me the "Thank you for logging in, Nifft!" screen, then dumps me back to where I was (still in anonymous, non-logged-in mode).

At least with the http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/ interface I get one post off before having to log in again... :-(

HOWEVER, as the test above shows, when I go to ENWorld and click on the "Messageboard" link, I'm mystically logged in -- EVEN THOUGH THE URL IS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE THAT HAD ME NOT LOGGED IN!

So, this story has a happy but (for me) confusing ending.

I hope I've helped shed some light on a bug, and not simply been an idiot.

Did you delete the cyberstreet cookie and the link in your favorites?

The cookies were among the first things to go when I discovered that I was having "log-in" issues. However, that was back when I was logging in via cyberstreet.

(Mozilla doesn't have "favorites", just "bookmarks"...)

Now, having gone in via the Messageboards link on the main ENWorld page, I've had no trouble for like 12 hours and multiple posts.

Hmmm... so I'm not the only one with this same problem!

I had the exact same can't-log-in thing as Nifft even when going straight to enworld.org , and after recieving advice from the Realms of Evil people, cleared my cookies and was able to log in- only to be booted after each post.

I'm testing the 'go-from-the-main-page' trick currently to see if it works for me as well...

Meanwhile, anyone have any idea why these problems are occuring?
