Ad box on main page

I don't see a thread on this on the first page, so this may be news.

The big, center-top ad box on the main page has not rendered correctly for the last month or so. Specifically, the text appears to be incomplete, and often refers to graphics that do not appear (nor is there a placeholder indicating an error during download).

For example, right now, the box has no graphics and begins with the text "And make sure that the online d20 Community sees it !" Later in the text, it reads "See, I've put a picture in this ad (...". However, there are no images in the box.

I believe I have the ad you are referring to up in another tab I have open right now. I have an image being displayed and haven't had any trouble viewing the ad since it has been in the rotation. Are you running any ad blocking software or blocking any images with your browser? It almost sounds like your browser may be blocking the image. If you aren't running any ad blocking software and you haven't blocked any images you might want to try clearing your temporary internet files and see if that makes a difference.

I am not sure we're talking about the same thing.

The ad box I am writing about contains a pitch selling the ad space. Since the pitch itself is not rendering properly, at least in some circumstances, it seems unlikely to generate as much revenue as it should. ;)

Currently, this is what I see in the center-top premium advertising space:

This spot here is the front page of EN World, arguably the single most visited d20 related page on the internet. It's looked at by people. A lot.

You can have words. You can have a picture. You can include information about your product. It's kinda like having a news item on the front page, but longer, written how you want it written instead of how EN World's newshounds want it written, and it stays here at the top of the page - before the news! And it can have a picture! See, I've put a picture in this ad (it's EN World's first ever logo, all those years ago, if anyone's interested).

Oh, and it's . Well, not so much half price - more along the lines of your order is doubled. Which is pretty much the same as half price.

There are no placeholders for images that did not download; just plain text, as far as I can tell.

As for ad-blocking software and such, I would find it easier to credit that if the other graphics on the page (News Item Icons, etc.) were not rendering correctly, too; however, they render just fine.

As far as I can tell, this really is limited to just this part of the ENWorld main page.

Yep, that's the ad I was talking about. If you were to have used ad blocking software like AdBlock for Firefox you could have possibly just blocked this url:

http://www.enworld.org/images/logos/logo4.gif

If that is blocked it shouldn't even show a placeholder (I tested by blocking one of the images in one of the ads, when I did so I just got the text of the ad). So if you have any ad blocking software it wouldn't hurt to check its filters to make sure nothing from enworld.org is blocked.

Barring that I would try clearing the browser cache as a long shot. It does seem to work for me just fine from two computers and two different browsers.
