Adamant Entertainment launches our new line of support for any SF role-playing game with this first installment of Star System. Our goal: to provide you with support for your space-opera campaigns, whether you play Saga Edition, d20 Future, Traveller, Serenity, or any other SF game.

To that end, the elements we include will be system-generic so that you can drop them into any campaign, no matter what system you use! For future releases, we’ll be using generic terms to describe characters, starships and creatures, which can be easily translated into your campaign’s particular game system. Adamant Entertainment is providing this free introductory guide as a key to those terms, and as a special bonus, we also include a Random Adventure Seed Generator for space-opera genre campaigns! You’ll never be stumped for ideas again!

The Star System line will provide settings, adventures, equipment and other support for your campaign, released regularly via RPGNow and DriveThruRPG.

Wrecks of the Great Abyss, by Mike Lafferty, focuses on adventure scenarios set around starship wrecks. Three starship wreck scenarios are provided, along with background information, plot hooks, NPCs and advice for the GM on running them. In addition, a quick and easy starship wreck scenario generator is included.

Persephone Station sits on the rim of civilization, the last way-station to some far-flung colonies. Due to its remote location and dubious economic value, the station has had little official support for decades. A consortium of local businesses known as the Commerce Council keeps the station running and minimally equipped to remain serviceable.

This installment of Star System gives you detail on this out-of-the-way outpost, some of the business and inhabitants that you might find there, and plot hooks for use in your own campaigns.

In the tradition of the movie The Seven Samurai and its various homages and imitations, including The Magnificent Seven and the space comedy Battle Beyond the Stars, The Magnificent Starfarers honors the classic scenario of a small group of hardened adventurers (the PCs) hired by a community unable to defend themselves against a local threat.

As there are many different types of space opera campaigns, this installment of Star System offers three variations of a common core. This supplement begins with a discussion of the main elements of the archetypal adventure, with each of the three variations following. This is done not only to familiarize readers with the common story elements, but also to provide the GM a blueprint upon which to design his or her own variations.
