My biggest concern is that this is taken care of by GenConSoCal, not next year in Indianapolis. There have been many, many good ideas on this list about how to fix the problems that happened, and it shouldn't take a year to implement them. I would re-iterate the preprinting idea--there's no reason for onsight printing if it's not necessary. I've never been to a GenCon. I've never met Mr. Adkison. I can tell he cares a lot about gaming though, and wants to do GenCon right so we can all enjoy ourselves. Every year, however, I hear nightmare stories about some aspect of the convention that's absolutely horrible and somewhat mentally debilitating... If it's not the Generic tickets it's noise, if it's not lines it's air conditioning, if it's not dealer room hours it's missing DM's, if it's not RPGA coordination catastrophes it's lack of water or money... It would seem to me that after all these years of "bad examples/mistakes", GenCon would finally be operating as a well-oiled machine. I have to wonder why it isn't. It should be. The problems are clear. They've been clear for many years, it seems. Kudos for standing up and taking responsiblity, Mr. Adkison, but as any business man knows, the bottom line is that people speak with their wallets. Cancelling EuroGenCon, Registration snafus at GenConIndy... It would be a shame if GenConSoCal is the straw that breaks the camels back... Coreyartus
