I truly believe that Peter Adkison cares about gamers and wants GenCon to be an extremely successful, well-loved event in gaming. I also believe that Peter Adkison is a business man. The first few years of any business are crucial. If GenCon UK was just going to be a money sink for him for the next few years...well, like it or not, you can't afford that in a new business. With time and with success I bet we'll see the triumphant return of GenCon Europe. But only when it's feasible from a business standpoint. You know, all of this reminds me of this great job I had. Free snacks, free soda and lunch was on the company every day, we ordered from local takeout places. We closed the phones down an hour a day and had LAN parties for that hour. We had great perks and benefits, extremely flexible schedules, tons of time off. We went to Cons and played games on company time. Lots of playtesting and the like. It was great...right up until they went under. To this day, I wish they had kept a few of their perks and used that money to stay in business. I learned my lesson the hard way. If Peter Adkison needs to hold off on hosting GenCon Europe until he can afford it...then I applaud him for having the guts to do what was needed. Cedric
