What is the main use of imageready compared to photoshop?

I use Photoshop for nearly everything. Animated GIFs, however, are something that Photoshop doesn't do and that ImageReady does very well. That's all I use ImageReady for, both for creating them and for opening existing ones and grabbing specific frames.

Imageready is designed to make web-friendly images. It gives the user more tools for creating animated gifs, rollovers, and image maps. It's not really a stand-alone application as much as a web-specific addition to Photoshop.
