Advanced Astral Deva

To provide me with a candidate for Greater Planar Ally, my DM has instructed me to create an Astral Deva advanced to 18HD. For the most part (skill points, feats, saves) this is fairly simple. But 2 questions nag at me:

1. Should spell-like abilities be advanced to 18th caster level as well? Since a normal 12HD Astral Deva is 12th caster level, my gut says yes. Also, a normal 12HD Astral Deva has SR 30. Should that be advanced to 36? Offhand, 36 seems to high for a cr 15, but an 11th level mindflayer cleric has SR 36, and it's only CR 12-13. However, the mindflayer entry does have specific information on raising SR, while there is no information for raising SR in the Astral Deva entry.

Those are decent house-rules, but by the Rules As Written (RAW) the answer to both questions is no. If the rules don't say that spellcasting and SR is based on hit dice, they aren't.

Unless otherwise specified, the CL would be equal to the HD. Since the CL is specified, per RAW No. Note that the CR does not increase in the same amount as the HD (+1 CR per 2 HD), so there's a good argument not to increase the CL to be equal. I would argue for at least a +3 increase in CL, and if you can convince the DM to go higher, more power to you.

This is definitely not. The SR is based on the CR, not the HD, unlike most every other ability. Typically, the recommended SR is 11 + CR (or is it 12+CR?). Even if this function is not used, the increase should not be related directly to HD, but to the change in CR. I would say SR 33. Class levels only improve SR for the mind flayer, 'cause they're special like that.

Caster level more or less, always fixed.

SR is CR + Something
Most monsters use CR + 10 or +13, of course special monster can have higher ones.

Im just not sure its the same way with the Astal Deva, There does exist Fixed SR 's too, and i think it might be the case with this monster
