Grilcar, The hammer of Grishnag I could not believe what I was seeing. Out of the horde of orcs stepped an ogre, more powerful than any I had ever seen. He was head and shoulders above the orcs, and when he drew his warhammer, black flames engulfed it. It seemed that the ogre did not have any regard for the orcs that seemed to be his allies, striking down anyone with impunit. I watched as the paladins of Cuthbert charged this ogre, for he threatened to break our lines. I almost lost faith when I saw Sir Farlos fall to the hammer. The ogre had struck a blow that few could believe. Sir Farlos helmet was smashed completely, and his blood stained the ground. Almost not believing my own eyes, the ogre simply licked his own hammer, ignoring the black flames that surely seered his tongue, it looked directly at me, smiled and then turned his attention to the other paladins. Four fell before the ogre was finally killed by a lance blow. The paladins, although sworn to uphold their duty and honor, stabbed the ogre repeatedly while he was on the ground. After the battle, I was given the duty of discovering the secrets of the warhammer. I could do nothing but study this weapon of amazing evil, doing my best to avoid the taint that the warhammer undoubtedly contained. It took months to realize the full effect of the evil, and stay untainted in the process. -Excerpt from the journals of Brother Arinor, magic expert of the monastary of St. Cuthbert in Deepshore Grishnag the ogre carried a heavy warhammer, sized for an ogre. The warhammer burnt with black flame, and was used to deal with both enemies and allies. Grishnag had become possessed by a demon in exchange for his warhammer, and spread chaos and destruction where he went. He only died by a lucky blow from a paladin of St. Cuthbert in the battle of the red field. Grilcar- Warhammer, Large sized, The abilities are as follows 1d10 damage (large size) Each time the wielder strikes for damage he or she heals 2 points of damage Deals 1d6 points of fire damage, or 2d6 if enemy is of good alignment, considered evil for purposes of damage reduction Deals 1d6 points of damage when it strikes an enemy of either good or evil alignment Materials Infernal Iron, Flarecore Onyx Bloodstone Weapon modifications Gem Socket-2 The crafting time (according to my calculations) 5 days for warhammer x 2 for being good quality +100% for gem socket +50% for flarecore iron +30 days for crafting time The crafting DC (according to my calculations) 12 for warhammer +6 for good quality +3 for flarecore Iron +3 for gem socket = DC 24 for crafting the warhammer The cost of this warhammer 12 gp for a warhammer 25,000 gp for bloodstone 6,000 gp for infernal iron flarecore x 8lbs (5 for warhammer, 1 for gemsocket, 2 for large size) 4,000 gp for imbued onyx for a total of 57,012 gp I hope I got everything right this time John
