Johanna and Lhavarr move forward, the latter holding the sunrod, while the rest keep a little behind. As they near the corner, everyone begins to hear the conversation—it suddenly stops as the light from the sunrod comes closer. When the two round the corner, they see the scene as Sapo described it, but now with more light. It is a sewer subjunction, with ports that eject efluvia at irregular intervals. The two quickly sees that the white muck in the sewer is not coming from there, instead, is is coming what appears to be a crack in the masonry at the far edge of the junction. It is there that they see the small group who look at them in suspicion. The group is a motley bunch. One is an older, well dressed human male, leaning on a finely made cane. He is closest to a hulking bugbear that, oddly enough, seems to be lugging some arcane apparatus. Two other humans seem to be trying to keep unnoticed, likely guards. In another corner is a smaller goblin holding a very large crossbow that currently is being used as an arm rest. There is no sign of any "artifact" currently. Something Odd is Going on Here Something is not right. What is really going on? A boy is missing and odd things are going on. And there is a strange group who was whispering about something that isn't there. Are they friend or foe and do they know anything? This is a skill challenge. Feel free to post in any order, but only once per "round" (you'll have to wait until everyone else has posted before posting again). One skill check per round only. I'll be handling posts in the order received, so any bonus accrued by one PC will apply to the next PC that goes. Use IC chat/OOC notes to strategize. Primary Skills Note, some primary/secondary skills will have secondary effects. Dungeoneering Examples: Useful knowledge of the Daunton sewer system, try to figure out what is up with the white stuff. Perception Example: Find that what is hidden. Social Skills (Bluff/Diplomacy/Intimidate/Insight) Example: Try to determine what is what. Secondary Skills If you can figure out a good use, I'll generally allow one use of a skill either for a bonus or a success. Some example (which may or may not be only used once). Aiding can be done in small numbers (but remember the new errata!) Nature Example: Try to figure out what is up with the white stuff. Stealth Example: Help someone do something sneaky. Thievery Example: What is with that mechanism the bugbear has? [sblock=OOC]I'll be leaving on travel Monday and be gone two weeks. I'll have internet, but only in the eves, so except delays during that time.[/sblock]
