The adventure was not completed, so this is listed as part I. Here is what happened so those who join in two weeks can follow along. Hamdin and Achas decided to travel west toward Amelkhar. Once they neared the city they encountered two children running from the pursuers. The young boy (about 11) was killed. Hamdin and Achas killed the pursuers and took their stuff. The girl (about 14) claims to be the daughter of the late Baron Amalkhar. Her name is Dabatum. The men who tried to kill her belonged to the gang of Naaqit. Hamdin at this point was confused. He thought the girl had died and the boy had survived. Achas, however, thought a man named Imnisin had been with the two children and was their guardian. However, despite these confusions, the girl describes the gangs ruling Amelkhar. The first gang is ruled by a kingly man named Khardan. He is decisive, strong, and obsessed with ruling. He wants Akkad Ennamkhar's fealty. He is married to a mean-spirited woman named Mittum. Mittum is over-emotional and punishes out of proportion to need. She is anything but level-headed. She needs to win at all costs and will sacrifice herself to gain that victory. The second gang is ruled by a artist-type named Habilkin. He cannot control his emotions, seeks revenge, loves to create, is irritable, unpredictable, and has no boundaries. He wants to restore the city to artistic glory and create a utopia. His people are the untouchables and the artists. They are prone to horrific violence. He hates Rimpadan above all else, and is allied with Malika'ar. His sister died trying to find out the secret behind the Temple of Ulmash. He wants religion brought down and destroyed. The third gang is ruled by a self-proclaimed messiah named Rimpadan. He is disciplined, is willing to sacrifice himself, harsh, will curse a man to teach a lesson, wants to break others' egos, always truthful. The other gangs don't realize the truth and he intends to show it. His people are digging out in the barrows. The charismatic man named Malika'ar rules the fourth gang. Young at heart, he has a soft spot for children. He is reckless and impulsive, and apt to disappear for a long time. Full of ideas and apt to play practical jokes. The children of the city adore him. He is allied with Habilkin but doesn't trust him. He finds Naaqit and Khardan far too controlling. Most of the city is loyal to him, but he is probably not the best ruler. The fifth gang is ruled by Naaqit, who is a matriarch of a gang she treats like family. She enjoys entertaining others and is an expert spy. She is obsessive in her need for order. Her identity is wrapped up in the gang. She hates Khardan with a passion; they were once married. She appears inapproachable, as though she might yell or laugh at you. She is a fighter and will fight to protect her gang members, who she considers her children. Hamdin and Achas went to an inn and are recovering from their wounds.
