Ezmerelda gleefully hops back to avoid the trailing edge of the spirit's ice storm, then whirls around, her sword leaving a crescent of snow and frost in its wake, and aims a slash at the archer's back! As the bandit's javelin is moving in to Faustus' leg, a loud shout of warning by Scorpius throws off the attackers aim, allowing the tiefling to deliver a brutal blow with his maul. [sblock=Faustus' granted MBA] MBA (1d20+2=18, 2d6=9) hits for 9! and the attack from the bandit misses [/sblock] Scorpius blinks, and drags himself to his feet amidst the chaos of combat. "Parry!" He shouts toward Faustus as he sees the bandit closing, a feint no doubt leading toward a hit. "Keep on them!" He calls to seemingly no one, but Ruarc finds his words ringing through his body. Scorpius strikes out at the nearest brigand but there is two much flare in his slice and the bandit avoids the blow. Ruarc, flagging a bit after his furious attack and the blow from the bandit, takes new heart at his comrade's words. He takes a deep breath and renews his assault against the bandit, but that same renewed energy causes him to over swing - he misses the mark with both blades. The frosty air continues to swirl about the archer, but this time it lacks the same bite. Mari lets out a wordless shout of frustration. The druid looks over the situation, he steps the edge of the woods and tosses his staff a little in the air catching it with an unusual backhand. As he tightens his grip and moves a finger along the shaft, the seems to become denser in form of a pack a wolves that pull at the archer and bring him to the ground Faustus, as he is so wont to do when he is in dire straits, looks skyward briefly and intones, "Mighty Lauto, lend your servant a portion of your infinite power and smite this foul cretin where he stands!" and the god apparently answers as his maul splits the bandits head open like a melon. [sblock=Video of Faustus' kill] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMWzFWIXltc]YouTube - Smashing a Water melon[/ame][/sblock] The remaining bandit sees the multitude of powerful adventurer's aligned against him and seeing Elurin step out of hiding, his eyes light up. "Let's see if you can save your friend" he taunts before stepping away and rushing towards the half-elf. At the last moment, the bandit trips somewhat on a rock and his attack is ruined, perhaps the natural world is defending its protector? The archer steps away again and this time his arrow slams into the genasi's shoulder, a powerful shot. Suddenly, you hear the loud neighing of a half-dozen horses and the door behind Scorpius is kicked open by a small stampede of the creatures escaping their flaming stable. Scorpius tumbles out of the way and Ruarc quickly jumps against the fort's wall, both escaping the frenzied beasts, but Faustus isn't so lucky as the tiefling gets knocked down and trampled by a particularly large specimen. After getting away from the fire, the horses slow down.
