Eithal, Jarel-karn, and Yishim focus all their concentration on this one spot, staring at it intently as they conjure an opposing magical force in an attempt to dispel the magic.</p><p></p><p>Despite the potency of the shadow spell, it begins to break down under the weight of the counterspell. The tree begins to shake, and great ruptures open up in the trunk as the clash of magic tears it asunder. One large branch is ripped off and falls next to Scarm, nearly crushing him. The ambient shadows nearby flicker unnaturally, growing into solid black masses and then fading away again.</p><p></p><p>With one final effort by the heroes, these manifestations are silenced and the spell finally fizzles away. Everyone in the party feels the psychic pressure lifting from their minds. Kaz was apparently not an illusion, and he is still a (dead) zombie. He is also carrying some rather valuable equipment. His friends in life refrain from salvaging from his corpse, but Beatrice takes an amulet similar to her own from him, and Damen finds a mask imbued with shadows when rummaging through his backpack.</p><p></p><p>The party rests easy now that the spell has been disrupted. Everyone takes some time to recover from the ordeal.</p><p></p><p>[gm]5 successes from rounds 1 & 2. Stonegod, 3 successes for the crit sounds reasonable. So 5 + 6 this round = 11 total, which is enough for a total victory. She has a hefty mace tucked into her belt.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: YellowGreen"><strong>"Very interessting, you ssoftsskins are. Firsst you ssearch our home, but you do not take anything.
