Ack. One thing I forgot- light undergrowth halves your movement, heavy quarters it. Can't run or charge in heavy undergrowth. Also penalties (-2 and -5, respectively) to tumble and move silently, bonuses to hide (the same). So I'll just figure you moved 15 feet. Sorry about that. Even as the forest swallow's Troi's shout in its muffling greenery, Tylkin speaks. "While you concern for dumb animals is commendably greater than mine, I assure you that I will make little difference when added to or subtracted from the substantial weight of goods in the cart. Do give me some credit- I know how to deal with pack beasts.” Meanwhile, Troi pushes through the undergrowth. He has to use his hands to keep the branches from scratching out his eyes, only bringing them down when he stops moving to line up the shot. It cuts through the undergrowth towards his opponent only to bury itself in the tree he hides behind. Having pulled back into cover at the shot, the man- Troi gets a brief glimpse of his face- comes back out to launch his own arrow. Troi is saved again by his armor, the enchanted mail turning a gut shot into a glancing bruise. Before the man pulls back, Troi can see is human, with the look of one who’s been in the forest for a while- unshaven and unclean. His leather armor and the rest of his equipment has been carefully camouflaged in forest greens and browns. Keeping the tree directly between himself and Troi, he starts to head into the forest, making enough noise pushing through the brush that he can easily be located. He couldn’t have gotten more than ten feet from where he was before, judging by the sound, putting him about sixty from Troi.
