The Tower's Final Room Climbing the stairs, the party passes through another blue field, apparently signifying another point of no return. Spellcraft DC 12:
As you climb the stairs, you can sense that the top floor is warded in some way. The ward reduces the ability of magical energies to pass into or out of the area, making the shielded room especially suitable to magical experimentation.
As you enter the top floor, you can immediately see the central problem plaguing the tower. The tower has a completely open floor plan on this level, and the central portion is surrounded by yet another one way force field. Inside the forcefield, the area is filled with a noxious looking gas. Apparently the field isn't completely air tight, as some of the smoke poors out the top and flows out into the now dark night sky of Orussus. The bad news is the smoke is extremely thick, and you cannot see what's inside without going in after it. The good news, however, is that from this vantage point you can easilly monitor the situation and react quickly if it worsens. Outside the forcefield, you see a small pedestal upon which sits a spellbook. A sense of foreboding fills you as you look upon it from across the room. The spellbook is likely the Wizards most precious posession, and any insult to it would probably make the wizard a permanent and deadly enemy. You can only guess at the traps which might surround it.
