Taking daggers, swords, axes, sickles or whatever else they could use to scrape off the fungus, the party went to work. Mona tried to keep watch as her comrades made their path safer to travel. She assumed that the party was going to enter the ruins so she slipped on her mail shirt. To aid their efforts in the coming night, she invoked the light of Hyrag upon a miniature wooden sword that she carried around her neck. She held it in her hand and over the party members. Whilst his comrades worked, Ogrin did the dangerous job of searching for further entrances into the chamber. Ogrin:
As soon as he separated from the party, it seemed as if the atmosphere around him grew more ominous with his isolation. The mist closed behind him and the only way he could see the party was through the barely visible light of Hyrag's disciple. Additionally, Ogrin found his task riddled with hurdles. This was mostly due to the environmental factors (rain+darkness+mist) that severely dulled his senses. It was this deprivation of the senses that caused him to stumble into danger. He was 50 feet from the party when a single step had him neck deep in a deep mass of sand… and he was sinking fast. He barely had time to inhale before the soggy mass raced up above his head. Pushing up with his hands allowed him to breach the surface. But whatever strength the well-built Halfling had, the weight of his trappings was just negating that benefit. [I]ooc: You have one round with your face above water before you sink once more. FYI, this is your second round in the quicksand. In the first round, you had failed your Swim check.
