Ogrin sheathed his blades (2 Move Actions) and began his ascent of the stairs (5 foot step) Rillian threw his javelin but it fell short of its target. Thankfully, it missed Scun and Rasereit as well. The creature charged Scun, spraying and splashing the water in the wake of its ferocity. Scun impaled it on his spear when it reached him. The speed of the creature drove the half-orc's shortspear through its watery body and its fluid features registered horrible agony (14 damage). Rasereit swung at it but some of the spraying water got into his eyes. The dwarf missed, his war ax biting into the stone wall instead. The creature's blow came swift as a crashing wave and just as strong. A fist of water smashed into Scun's face (11 damage, -3 hp currently) and felled him where he stood. Only then was the true hazard of their terrain revealed: Anyone who fell would have their head submerged and would drown almost immediately! Only quick action from their companions would save them should it happen. T'was some luck in the half-orc's favor that he fell backwards upon his backpack. His head was just barely out of the water. Had he landed sideways or forward (one in four chance to fall backwards)... The creature hooted victoriously in its gurgling tongue as Scun fell to the flooded floor, or so the party from Orussus thought. Unfortunately for the party, t'was not the case. Emerging from behind the stairs was the creature's twin. Following its kin's signal, it completed the ambush. With incredible speed, the water monster swam up to Mona and slammed her with a liquid appendage. Mona cursed. Welts marked her body where the blow had landed. She fell to the ground... and got back up, having rolled off most of the impact. Worse yet, the lantern was drenched from the creature's attack. Save for the stairs area, the rest of the room was bathed in shadow (concealment agaisnt those without darkvision). The hall beyond the room and the battle ongoing inside the hall was too dark to see anything. Nezrak:
Nezrak could see the goings on of this room clearly. But he could barely see the happenings in the hall(concealment).
OOC: Nezrak's Turn
