Mona went with Nezrak to examine the runed-platform. After some trepidation, she placed a gloved hand the upon darkness emanating stone and invoked the divine power of her Deity. With the divination still fresh in her mind, she scanned the engraved text swiftly with her eyes. After what seemed like a long while, she arose from her kneeling position and strode out of the sphere of shadow. "It is as you have read, Nezrak. Something is trapped behind those double doors. The runes make little sense of whatever it is, besides the fact that it is dangerous and it is evil. Of course, as you have mentioned, there are rewards to destroying this beast. Some items of powerful magic behind those doors as well as some valuable riches. The way the runes read, it seems that someone can probably channel positive energy into the pedestal to open the door. But I would rather not do so, given the risk and our own problems with time." oog: It is indeed something that leaves a lot to interpretation. For example, by a strict reading of the rules, a party only recovers HP by resting at night. Nevermind their own time schedule (whether they are surface dwelling or not). Also, Xael brought up the fact that some races only "sleep" for 4 hours and not 8 hours like most other species. But this can be interpreted as: You can only gain the benefits of rest once a day, and then only if you rest at night. If you rest for a day and a night, then you can recover twice that. Ug. I wish this was less vague. For now, I'm going to rule that in my games, you only get the benefits of rest after a full night's rest without interruptions. The same with the entire day and night of rest thing. Though the recovery rate for HP is so slow that it doesn't really matter that much. But I like to run my games RAW.
