As the evening wears on the smell of dusty tome after dusty tome begins to wear heavy on the adventurers heads. As their eyes begin to show signs of their weariness the ever helpful Sharlia deposits the latest pile of books upon the desk with a loud thud. "I think you lot could do with some rest don't you?" she asks with a hint of sympathy, "Why don't you go get a nights sleep and I shall continue to look into these topics for you, if you return later I should have some more information." The Halfling acolyte ushers the rag-rag band toward the Library's main stairwell with a kindly smile. As the group descend they notice that the Library's quiet main hall is now lit by hundreds of candles and the huge windows to the city outside let in only the darkness of the night penetrated by the occasional spots of light from drinking establishments. The walk across the echoing marble floor is a more eerie experience than on the way into Daunton's premier academic establishment. The flickering candlelight throws long shadows about the large chamber and the faint scratching of quills upon parchment is the only noise to be heard over a deeper silence, drawing attention to the only other occupants of the hall. Three novices sit at the lecterns at the far end of the chamber, scribbling diligently under the gaze of a tired looking journeyman sitting at the reception desk with his head in his hands. As the adventurers make their way toward the huge doors to the outside world, the journeyman offers them a parting wave then returns his head to his hands. Outside the air is brisk and the city mostly quiet. The party makes their way down the stone steps into the cobbled road, receiving a smart salute from the two guards still posted at the Library's door.
