Hi. Our game group is a group of friends scattered around the state and once a year we get together, rent a cabin and game for a week. This year one of the guys is running Way of the Wicked. However, he hasn't really given any insight on character generation other than the stuff included in the original preview. As the last one to make a character I'm a tad at a loss for which way to go. Party Composition to date: 1 * LE Human Anti-Paladin of Asmodeus 2 * LE Elf Cleric (Undead Lord) of Asmodeus 3 * LE Human Monk (Martial Artist) 4 * LE Human (Youth) Oracle of Asmodeus 5 * Up in the air, but likely a rogue or a witch That leaves me. I am looking at a LE Tiefling (daemon) and torn between a Sorcerer (Arcane/Sage) or a Wizard (Conjurer) - the Summoner class was banned by the GM. In both cases the DM is allowing the Human's spell-based favored class option. I prefer spontaneous casting over being forced to memorize spells, but I can't get past the wizard's far greater flexibility - assuming you can find spells outside what the core class gives (which is only slightly better than a sorcerer's known spells). Can you give any insight on which class might prevail better? Is there more of a focus of wizards (i.e. is there decent opportunity to pick up spells)? Would the flexibility of the wizard be better if I'm the only arcane caster? The other thing we can't get out of the DM, is how much combat focus is there? Obviously I don't want to build say a blaster sorcerer if combat is rare or discouraged vs. other forms of conflict resolution. Any hints (without too many spoilers) would be useful.
