Advice on making a commando/assassin type sorcerer

The PC as stands now is a Strongheart Halfling/Shade Sorcerer6/Shadow Adept2. Last session I had Sheol shadow stride into a room otherwise blocked off to us and lay down the smack on some guards with a flurry of magic missiles and I took a real liking to it.

It was fun sneaking in improved invisible and flaying them all while they tried to guess where he was. I decided I want more so I'm looking for:

A) Things (preferably spells since we only have the feats to make wands and scrolls in the party right now and my Shadow Weave feat doesn't get along with regular items regardless) that can make me a more effective sneak.

B) Tactics that can make my sneaking/killing more effective.

C) A prestige class that could help with A and/or B above.

Here are my sorcerer spells:

0-Acid Splash (MoF), Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Ghost Sound, Horizikaul's Cough (MoF), Mage Hand, Read Magic, Resistance
1-Change Self, Feather Fall, Magic Missile, Ray of Enfeeblement, Shield
2-Darkness, See Invisibility, Shadow Spray (FRCS)
3-Haste, Lightning Bolt
4-Improved Invisibility

Since the template already has me two levels behind, don't want to do anything that would set my casting further back, like taking the obvious rogue levels. :)

How about more spells from the "Shadow" schools (Necro, Enchant, and Illusion IIRC). Your lightning bolt will be pretty easy to save against, but a Hold Person wouldn't, and its far more lethal. Haste is a great spell, but maybe just stick with some potions and go with Major Image. The spell has so many applications to confuse parties. Cast illusions of yourself, or whatever, to distract the party while you are improved invisible.
Drop Feather Fall and take Ventriloquism so they can't pin point your voice. Or even take Silent Spell, and Arcane Preperation (probably a good idea anyway).
Spell Focus in Enchantment and/or Illusion is probably not a bad idea either.

Focus on the strengths of the PrC and your Shadow Magic. Used intellegently the PCs/victims would have little chance of ever seeing thier attacker, much less knowing who it was.

Imagine the PCs are sitting around when suddenly they hear a voice behind them chanting. Suddenly the Fighter is held, and then his throat slit. The PCs search behind them. Then a huge orc appears in the doorway and roars at them. The Rogue is held...
You get the idea.
