adding my own speculations in...
agree they will not make it d20 in all likelihood. i would be shocked if it wasn't simply a strong set of source material and somethintg akin to the same cinematic unisystem they used to model angel and buffy, tailored to the setting as they usually do. i haven't seen their scifi unisystem games, but it might not be too far off. Actually, for the material AEG already covered, my bet is the market will be most of the same people as bought the AEg game. The only bleed offs i would expect are those who are/were diehard aeg/spycraft fans. As one who did not like the mechnics aeg chose, but loved the source material, I knw i will be a buyer. For material beyond that AEg has done, season three and beyond, I think the market is wide open. I disagree. While the source material aeg produced was great, not everyone agrees their mechanics treatment was, and thats even among d20 fans like me. heck, i go even further... they produced great source material. they producd great mechanics, i often recommend stargate as the best modern combat d20 rpg system. They just IMO did not choose a good match between source and mechanics. They got what i call "stargate as if done by tom clancey or larry bond." they probably produced an excellent "military scifi toolkit" for their overall spycraft game line. Expecting a unisystem version mechanics wise to focus more on character and less on hardware and military style combat, i an hopeful of seeing a better fit between mechanics and gameplay and show and feel. But, i do hope Eden continues the high quality and amount of good show-based source material AEG has shown. it would be a shame if they lost that. heck, they could certainly do worse than buying the services of as many of the source material side authors from the AEG stargate line to write their own stargate source. Though, just as my own personal preference, please not the nazi world uber-cliche stuff!!! ;-) Maybe they won't be able to do the nazi world stuff cuz its AEG's ip?!? :-)
