AEG Magic first impression

Havoc

First Post
I just browsed the book, it is close to 200 pages, contains full classes, prestige classes, spells, feats , variant magic systems ranging from elementalism to point based magic, spontaneous spell casting , new rules for artifacts with souls, arcana dueling... it seems by far the very best one word title they have done so far, and probably will become a favorite!!
Here is a brief list of contents; the first 14 chapters describe a new magic type; in each there are classes, prestiges classes, feats, spells and eventually rules associated with the type of magic described.
These are
chronomancy, elementalism, fetich magic, flesh magic, forge magic, ki magic, madness magic, number magic, rune magic, shadow magic, technomancy, thaumatury, theurgy and witchcraft.
The list contain both classical and original stuff!
The last chapter is a set of more general rules; it details a spell point system, rules for designing spells, arcane dueling, new magic item types, and then some spells, feats and magic item.
I am just too lazy to write a review, just wanted to share my enthousiasm.

The AEG books I have (Evil and Dungeons) are both pretty cool but both suffer from horrendous editing. I'll have to take a look at Magic, though; it sounds like it's got tons of good stuff in it.

Can you list some of the classic spells? (I assume you mean redone spells from earlier editions?)

Hum no I meant that in the list of types of magic, there were classic (e.g. elementalist) as well as original ones (e.g. thaumaturgist)

What's Ki Magic like? And how about Technomancy?

Well ki magic revolves principally aroud a new monk with sorcerous spellcasting abilities. However, there is also a prestige class with a nice class feature: it is assumed that their sorcerous talents comes from their blood, and they can use some abilities from their bloodline ancestor who can be either angelic or demonic - well I just bought it a few hours ago and its a big book, so I cannot be more precise.

Technomancy is a relatively weaker form of magic as far as direct spell casting goes, but allows to build mechanical creatures and stuff like that - there are templates for constructs which can further be customized with 'packages' such as flight or combat.
Then there are descriptions of all matters of steampunck beasties.

And that is just one of the 15 chapters of the book; I will need time to digest it all, but it is full of nifty ideas for my next campaign.
I suspect that a proper review will take some time to do!
