African Fantasy Settting Art & Stuff

Anyone know where I could get some images of African-styled FANTASY art. Anything would be good. I have African Adventures from Atlas Games (and love it).

I plan on starting a new 4e campaign that is African in foundation, but has been heavily influenced in parts by 'standard' dnd. ie there ca be heavy armor etc.

What I am after most is scenes - most art is of European castles, etc. Are there any good pics out there with more Africa styled buildings.

Also after pics with dark-skinned humans in any setting. (Have some very good ones from wizards and awesome female paladin from Paizo's Pathfinders).

Any creatures would be good, but have a lot of those already in African Adventures.

So anyone tried something similar and have other stuff they would like to share? :)

You can probably find some images among the many cards of M:tG, as well as those for Everway (an OoP game from Jon Tweet and WotC).

Thanks for replies.

I have the Kalamar CS, but there is not a lot in that - how good is the Svimozia one? Plenty of art?

I don't have any MtG cards, but do have some old artist and dnd ones you hve just reminded me to check :)

Haven't heard of Everyway...is that an African setting game?

As I recall, Everway was a multiplanar/multicultural RPG...kinda like a prototype of Planescape or an amalgam of everything that appeared in the 2Ed Forgotten Realms.

The cards in the game were designed to foster roleplay, including character design.

Unlike M:tG, though, the cards were not original to the game, but were instead culled from great fantasy & sci-fi art published over the decades in books and magazines, and even the occasional album cover.

So you'd see pieces by Dean, Achilleos, Frazetta, Hildebrand, Rowena, Vallejo, and so forth, covering things as familiar as a Conan poster or as obscure as an Osibisa record sleeve.

There was a setting called Nyambe that was just that. It is 3.0 or 3.5 and was pretty good. Unless you live near a well-stocked game store though you may need to mail order it. I think Atlas Games produced it. Google-search for it, you should be able to find it easily.

One thing I didn't like about Nymabe was that it did not include details on the Sahel/Sudan area which lies along thre souther edge of the Sahara desert. This is a fascinating area and home to a number of Medieval Kingdoms replete with Castles and Armoured Warriors mounted on Horses in Barding.

For some real world help check out the castles of GONDOR, Ethiopia

Also look up Mansa Musa,

or Sundiata Keita, the Kingdom of Mali and the Bornu or Kano Horsemen

Thanks Tonguez - now that is the sort of stuff I am after. Especially any art and with fantasy leanings.

Nyambe IS African Adventures - I have that book and as stated in OP love it. Just looking for some art/images to go with it.
