Now, twentyfive years later, he is a healthy, tanned young man, with some combat experience.</p><p></p><p>Born around 221 BC, as the son of a wealth merchant, he had access to normal schooling. And he liked it, he was good at it. While at school he learned the funny things, like The Illiad or Odyssee, at home he read the works of Hereodtus. He learned a lot from these books, like what the world looked like (flat, with the land surrounded by Oceanus) and how the wars with the Persians were fought. He learned how the Gods always punish Hubris, and this made him a humble person.</p><p></p><p>But, at the age of 18, he was called for army training. He went with high hopes, but he sucked at it. It was one of the first things he wasn't good at, and it disappointed him greatly. After a while, he did learn the basics, of course, and his father bought him a hoplite outfit. </p><p></p><p>And that's when he was called to fight for his country. The Romans had been attacking for time, and they needed a larger army. And then he fought for his life. He killed man after man, his unit holding the line. He moved forward, together with his unit, stepping over the bodies of his enemies, when suddenly, she saw something. The sun reflecting off its shiny surface, a roman gauntlet. he quickly grabbed it and put it on. It might be worth something...</p><p></p><p>However, after some time, the tide turned. The Romans were advancing, and more and more of his friends were falling down around him. Eventually, Xantos was struck down too. The pain was horrible, but lasted only a moment before everything turned black...</p><p></p><p>And then, a feeling he had never felt before. Life, pure life, flowing through his arm, and then his entire body. Wounds closing, sight returning. For a moment, all was perfect, but then he was back in reality. The fight had moved several hundred feet away from him, but he could see the romans were winning. They were slaughtering his friends, his relative, everyone he knew...when out of thin air, people arrived.</p><p></p><p>They spoke in a language he did not know, wore clothes he had never seen, in short they looked like something from a dream, maybe they were Gods. Xanthos knelt. They looked at a strange device, and looked back at him with a hint of confusion on their faces. One of them touched his gauntlet, and nodded to the other guy.
