The war is the fault of the Jedi who are trying to overthrow the rightful government. The Clone Wars series does touch on this repeatedly. The common people don’t love the Jedi. They’re terrified of them. There are all sorts of groups that actively hate them. Heck if you’re living on a former Separatist world, the Jedi are the enemy. So you’ve got a decade or so under the Republic of people being told Jedi are the enemy. The Empire becomes the Empire by saving you from those dangerous Jedi who were going to overthrow the rightful government and steal your children. Then you have nearly thirty years of nothing but negative media about the Jedi. It’s not surprising that the Jedi are not very well known or understood.</blockquote>
