Even if they don't actually worry that some supervillain is going to come back and start a war, just for the need of having a justice system that people actually take serious the would need to investigate until they have exhausted all leads or apprehended the culprits and brought them to justice.Maybe they can decide not to send a whole fleet, but if they can spare 3 cruisers to apprehend a General going against orders borrowing a few X-Wings and a light transport, they can certainly afford a special task force, say consisting of a few X-Wings and a light transport to investigate a bunch of murderers sabotaging Republican ships and stealing from the Republic. Why not? The people to pursue are at least a bunch of murdering criminals that have no reason not to steal and murder again. Not pursuing them is going to bring more death and sabotage, and if the theories of their General and a former Jedi are true, even a future war. If they don't stop this kind of people, the Republic is failing as legitimiate authority in the galaxy. They don't keep the peace, they don't bring justice, they don't enforce laws, they don't care for their murdered citizens or their soldiers, they don't care for their property. I guess it's really time to institute some kind of premier organization to establish order in a galaxy ruled by such an incompetent and corrupted regime.</blockquote>
