I think here's what people want/ are expecting. The Thrawn reveal. They're building up to the reveal. Next episode is  probably likely. 30 odd years if expectations  the heroes try and stop him but fail. He gets the win establishing him as a Bona fide threat/living up to those expectations (he's a strategic/tactial genius) and the show ends with Thrawn returning to the main galaxy perhaps bringing a fleet or weapon with him or he has secured resources or something. Probably something like that. But here's sone curveball. New canon hasn't mentioned a war between the NR/Imperial remnants. Maybe it doesn't happen. Thrawn either doesn't return or dies but doesn't start a war vs the NR that's the First orders job. Pure speculation mostly my own.1. They stay in the other galaxy.2. Ezra has fallen to the Darkside or otherwise made his peace with Thrawn. 3. The heir to the Empire is a Disney version of Thrawns Empire of the Hand. Except its in the other galaxy vs unknown regions ((First Order us your Canon Empire in Exile).4. Baylans apprentice betrays him OR.5. Theawn offers Baylan, Sabine, Ahsoka to join him and Ezra reestablished a new Jedi order or new force tradition.6. Sabine Ezra romantic undertones in Rebels. Thrawn wants them as Heir to the Empire. Lightside government that doesn't suck essentially duplicating Fel dynasty from old EU legends. Instead if Hans descendents ruling the Empire it's Ezra and Sabine as monarchs. 7. The big threat isn't Thrawn or the Imperial Remnants but the Grysk, ancient builders (Dathomiri, Rakata or whatever) or other extra galactic threat. All the trailer showed us was Thrawn turning around looks like on the bridge of that inter galactic ship. Work with me more wishful thinking except they pulled the trigger with Baylan/Sabine "join me and together". The obvious play is Thrawn one ups them and returns.  But the Thrawn reveal could come as late as the season final. But canon Thrawn is more of an Anti hero he's not a fanatic Imperial. He's there to protect his people from the Grysk/Empire and he thinks the revels/republic are weak. "Your government  sucks join me willingly ".</blockquote>
