I asked Gemini PC species with a touch of new weird fiction (but for all the audiences): The Calligraphers (Scriptos) Humanoid beings whose skin resembles hardened parchment and is covered in constantly shifting ink tattoos. They are "living libraries" that are not born, but rather written. Weird Origin: They are fragments of laws or stories that came to consciousness in the Nexus of a Thousand Coins.

Species Trait (Adaptive Ink): You can use your action to rearrange the tattoos on your hands. Choose one tool (thief's tools, forgery kit, etc.); you gain proficiency with it until you finish a long rest.
Skill (Written Sentence): Once per long rest, you can cast the Command spell without expending a spell slot, manifesting a word that glows brightly on your skin.
The Myconauts Unlike traditional Myconids, these are a symbiosis between an intelligent fungus and a diving suit or ancient armor. The fungus fills the suit and uses the gloves and boots to interact with the world. Weird Origin: Colonies of spores that learned to pilot technological remnants of Omnia-Mechanics.

Species Trait (Spore Web): You have darkvision (18 meters). Additionally, you can communicate telepathically with any creature within 9 meters, but only if that creature can understand at least one language.
Ability (Partial Gas Body): Due to your fungal nature, you can pass through spaces as narrow as 2 centimeters wide effortlessly, leaving your armor behind or taking it with you if it is made of organic materials.
The Prisms (Luxodons) Beings made of solid light and faceted crystal. They have no internal organs; their bodies are geometric projections that refract the reality around them. Weird Origin: Physical projections of a starfish from the Sea of Echoes that chose to walk among mortals.

Species Trait (Defensive Refraction): When you take damage, you can use your reaction to become partially transparent. You reduce the damage taken by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.
Skill (Light Spectrum): You know the Light cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast Color Spray once per long rest using your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.
