Dear EN World residents, The London-based publisher AKA Games is proud to announce the release of its free quickstart rules for First Contact: X-Corps (you can grab the file HERE). This 56-page long document contains the essential rules of the game, a brief description of the setting, 12 pre-generated characters (6 survivors, 6 Global Defence soldiers), and two ready-to-play scenarios, one for survivor characters, one for Global Defence ones. Those of you who were fortunate enough to attend Dragonmeet on December 6, 2014 might have met Andrew Peregrine at the AKA Games booth and talked about this game, and of an upcoming release in English. However, for those who weren’t there, here’s a short introduction to the game: First Contact: X-Corps is a Spanish alien invasion roleplaying game written by José Manuel Palacios Rodrigo, published in Fall 2014 by Holocubierta Ediciones in Spanish language, followed very closely by a French translation from Le 7ème Cercle, and which has become quite a big success in both countries right on. This game, which uses the Open d6 system, offers two modes of play: survival horror (civilians who try to survive the alien invasion) and Global Defence (Special Forces who fight the alien invasion). Fortunately, an English version is planned and will be launched via Kickstarter in early 2015. So stay tuned for more details real soon! Oh! And here's a little trailer...
