Hey, Edena, gotta dissagree with you on Covenant. Given his inability to cope with change, and his rigid, fanatical adherence to the "laws of leprosy", I couldn't see him as a chaotic character. As to Mr Thermopyle: yeah, he was probably Chaotic Evil (I did indicate very strong evil tendencies). He is a very complex character. It's been a while since I've read the series, but I got the impression that, while he has done a lot of evil things, they tended to be instinctual actions without thought of the consequences. Maybe it was just that I found such a pitable and pathetic character hard to consider truly evil. With some more thought, though, I guess I was probably wrong. I do disagree with the poster who had him finish at Chaotic Good. He never really ceased to place his own welfare above that of others, and although perhaps he couldn't bring himself to hurt his son and his mother any more, I got the impression he would still take out anyone else who threatened him, without pause or consideration for whether or not they deserved it. At best, his mentality was live and let live, but if you get in my way then watch out. Edit: Another disagreement, Edena. Admitedly, my knowledge of Berserkers is limited to Berserker Base, but I would have placed them at absolute True Neutral. I can understand how organics would consider their actions evil, but from an objective viewpoint, they remain effectively mindless creatures who do what they are programmed to do. While they are in many ways true AIs, their inability to question their programming, and ask of themselves whether or not their tasks are morally or ethically right removes them from any responsibility for the destruction they cause. Edit 2: Still on berserkers. I could possibly live with Lawful Neutral. If you had to give them an evil disposition, then I would say Lawful Evil.
