All Falls To Darkness (Song inpired by SW3)

Michael Morris

First Post
I'm going to put the following song into a spoiler because it is inspired by Star Wars III. It doesn't directly mention anything Lucas has a copyright on - it's sort of an emotional take on the movie like "Into the West" is an emotional take on Return of the King.

It doesn't use any of the music of Star Wars - One of these days I'll get a computer with composing software again.

All Falls To Darkness
Anakin's Song

Have you ever seen the sun rise
And throw beams clear through the rain?
'Tis how your smile was to me
Clearing away any pain.
And now every night I wonder
If I shall see you again
Before all falls to darkness once again.

Had I told you once I loved you
And I'd suffer any pain?
For if my world's without you
I have nothing left to gain
And now every night I regret
Wishing to go back again
Before all falls to darkness once again.

Where did I
go wrong and
Why did I
do this and
Can I bring you back to my side?
Don't you know
I did this
All for you
And if you
Leave my heart will never survive.

Had I known this path would kill you
I never would have began.
Now all my world without you
Is a never ending pain
There is nothing left but suffrage
All my struggles where in vain
And all is now in darkness once again.

The only gripe I might add:

I assume that you were trying to say "suffering" when you wrote "suffrage," because suffrage as defined by the dictionary has more to do with politics and voting than with suffering.

Perhaps "anguish" or "torment" or some other two-syllable word would be good here.

Archaic definition - I'm well aware of the current definition.
