A few smacky highlights (from memory, book at home): The minor auras of the Marshal class lets the Marshal give his Cha bonus to all allies (including self) for certain rolls. Example: all Str skills and checks (which includes the Str check during Trip); all Dex skills, checks, and Initiative rolls; all damage when flanking, all damage when charging. So, for example, a 1st level elf rogue (20 dex, improved init) in a party with an Aasimar marshal (20 charisma) could have a +14 to Init. A half orc fighter (20 Str) in a party with an Aasimar marshal (20 Cha) could have a +14 to trip attempts--not counting the +4 bonus from a friendly sorcerer's Enlarge Person spell. The Sidestep feat allows a character to take a free bonus 5' step after making an AoO. So a character with a reach weapon could take his AoO on a charging creature and then step behind cover, or simply step out of reach of the charger. The Goad feat lets a character taunt a target as a move equivalent action. The target makes a will save (DC based on character's level and Cha), and if it fails it can only make melee attacks against that character (it can do other things like cast spells or use skills, but if it wants to melee attack it has to attack the taunter). A character with a reach weapon should be able to put this to good use, drawing the target into AoOs from his friends and from his reach weapon. There's a new paladin spell that doubles damage on a charge. Use with lance and Spirited Charge (and augment with the Marshal's charge aura) for extra fun. I'm just giddy over a marshal teamed with a bard, sorcerer, and cleric. The sorcerer and cleric summon all kinds of allies and the marshal and bard boost them (big time--at 1st level flanking allies will be hitting at +3 for +5 damage). Only wrinkle is that the marshal can only give bonuses to allies that can understand him; Speak With Animals or Tongues spells (or telepathy) solve this problem. -z
