Alter Self question

I need people's opinion on this: is a character's subtype influencing the Alter Self spell in the choice of forms available ?
I have a halfling sorcerer with the dragonblood subtype (Races of Dragons), and the description of "dragonblood" on page 4 is confusing me. Does it mean he has access to dragon forms (to the limit of the spell, like HD and size) ? What other creatures are accessible ?

No, a caster's subtype does not influence the forms he can take with alter self.
