I made an account specifically to share something I made; longtime lurker, first-time poster. TLDR; new sheets with a more attractive layout. I'm going to be transitioning my 5e table to 4th edition soon, and I ran a couple one-shot games to test those waters. The biggest sticking point for multiple players was the, uh, very tax-form-looking character sheets; coming down from 5e's comparatively clean and "dashboarded" sheet layout, their eyes just got lost in a sea of backwards-facing calculations. I am aware that the Essentials sheets look a little cleaner, but lose some fidelity in terms of data transparency. So I went looking for solutions. I found some beautiful sheets from a graphic designer named Jasmine Rae Friedrich that they made back in the day (Antiquarian Character Sheet — Jasmine Rae Friedrich). I loved the readable presentation and the high fidelity of data (separate lines for every feat choice, a massive power shorthand matrix, calculation fields for NADS/skills, even an included mini-character sheet for any companions you might pick up). But it wasn't form-fillable, and as a forever GM the benefits of having a digital backup of my players' sheets were too big to ignore. So, despite being a complete neophyte in PDF editing, I got to work. I also reached out to Jasmine to see if it would be ok to post my own form fillable version with link backs to her originals, and they gave an ecstatic yes. I know my work isn't the cleanest (I got the line alignment close, but not precise, and there's no auto-text shrinking), but I figured either (A) it's good enough, or (B) it'll drive eyes back to the originals and someone with more expertise could make a cleaner version with more bells and whistles. I do know that Jasmine also said they'd be taking a look back at their originals and making some edits in the name of accessibility; as I understand it, they made those sheets when they were a graphic design hobbyist, and now they're a true professional. Anyway, I hope this benefits the community as a whole! I'm super excited to begin my 4e campaign as soon as my current one wraps up, and I guess this is just one lurker's way to give back to a community that's provided so many wonderful resources and discussions. Link: I also tried to post this to reddit, but they removed my post at the 4ednd subreddit...I hope I'm not stepping on any etiquette or rules I'm not aware of, and if I am, I'm happy to make any edits required!
