Well, close. I probably WOULD be a transsexual if it were a lot easier and less disruptive to one's life, and if I didn't know for a fact that without a lot more money for reconstructive surgery than I'll probably ever see, I'd be a damned ugly woman. ;) What I mean, in my case, by "lesbian trapped in a man's body" is that I admire women a great deal, and I have made a great deal of effort to bring my feminine (creative) side to the forefront and I allow it to overwhelm my masculine (deconstructive) side as much as possible. But I find women sexually attractive - in fact, to get a lot more personal than I intended to with this conversation, I sometimes find it difficult to enjoy things (ahem, Eric's grandma) without thinking of myself as a woman. I don't mean the sort of crude comments you may have heard from men before about, "if I had breasts, I'd never leave the house," or things like that. Does this mean I hate men, or that I hate myself? No, I accept us as what we are - inferior in many ways, but superior enough in others to be equally valuable. Just not in other ways that I particularly admire, most of the time. And I was kidding about the "nancy in a Nancy" thing - I can definitely see how some women, especially ones that have had the short end of things, might find it desirable to have the physical strength and sexual dominance and (to be kind, we'll call it) determination of will that men have, but still be attracted to men. If any of this is what you were thinking was borderline offensive, I'd legitimately like to know. And if you are uncomfortable following up on any of it on ENWorld, my e-mail is torm1975@bellsouth.net. I'll bet Turanil is SO glad this is the direction this thread has taken. :p
