Announcement: I'll be putting together Alan's Reference Document, a compilation of the original SRD and the d20 Modren SRD with a few changes by yours truly. All OGC BTW. Don't think it'll ever get "finished", but it will be available on my site some day soon for people to use. Right now the only part that is ready to go is the general dragon information, and that needs some tweaking. After which comes specific dragon info, starting with the white dragon Changes to expect: No feats or talents. They'll be replaced with special abilities and "tricks" D20 Modern base classes will be used, along with advanced classes from the d20 Modern SRD, those of my design, and anything I find on the web. No prestige classes per se, that will be handled in a different manner. Namely, instead of picking the PrC and getting the skills and abilities, you get the skills and abilities as you adventure (in some cases join a specific group) and and by learning those skills and tricks you become known as a member of a certain class of adventurer. So if you wanted to become a Unicorn Orc Cavalryman you would need to, first, satisfy some criteria (be an orc, be a member of a Unicorn Orc clan, and volunteer for your clan and tribe's cavalry unit), after which you would learn the skills and tricks particular to a member of the Unicorn Orc Cavalry. I'll also be presenting skills and tricks according to the governing characteristic. That is, you'll have Str skills, Dex skills, etc. Which are primary and which secondary will depend on the class's governing characteristic. With that out of the way, I now present the question. I'm also changing monster stats to some extent. For instance, general dragon information has been much expanded upon. I'm also changing the classification system, dropping beast, magical beast, etc. and replacing it with a three tier system. The basic categories are Animal, Elemental, and Spirit with a special modifier of Outsider where applicable (this indicated in brackets). The sub and sub-sub categories more narrowly define the creature, with the presence of a (or the prominent) special quality indicated in brackets. So my version of the basilisk would be classified thusly: Animal, Bird, Basilisk [magical talent] An elf would be classified: Animal, Humanoid, Elf A deva would be: Animal (Outsider, Celestial), Humanoid, Deva [Magical Talent] Let me know what you think.
