We finally played the encounter with this BBEG for a tribe of Kobolds. He had a couple of Dretches nearby for support. He knew the party was coming, and doused the area around the door with Oil, to both hinder the party, and to prepare to flame it with his breath, when enough of them came in. The Dretches were there as part of the infernal pacts the Kobold was making, in creating new breeds of Kobold. They were supposed to delay the party in the Oil. Buimbu slammed the party with some Dragon Bolts/Magic missles, and grabbed the big Half-Ogre with a Charm Person. No one in the party would attack him, because he would decimate at least half of the party. He held off the party, while Buimbu cast Mage armor to get up to AC24, invisibility, Summon III, (Hell Hound) and Fly. (He was using his cape, to try to appear Draconic.) he also augmented his spells, with a couple found at Arwink's website. I don't have the link with me here, Several of the party were dropped to single digits, when they fell back, due to the Half-Ogre, who they could not get past, without starting a heck of an internal battle. As it was, the Half-Ogre attacked the Dretches, as I did not have Buimbu tell him not to. When they retaliated, the spell was broken. The Half-Ogre(Ierkh), and an Orc Ranger chased the Sorcerer.Ancestral back into his room. When Ierkh fell in the oil, Buimbu spit some fire into the Oil (spell custom 0 level from Arwinks's website) and burned Ierkh who started raging, and jumped out of the fire. When both came into the room, Buimbu breathed his flamer for this encounter. Ierkh was raging and was dropped to under 0 when his rage stopped with the death of Buimbu. 4 to single digits, and one to unconscious. I made some mistakes at first, which was probably good. I had never played a Sorcerer before. he had some magic and postions that I would have used for him, if I had payed better attention. The most important part is, we all had a blast playing this encounter. GW
