For future reference, It wouldn't be a bad idea to just make the whole thread a "Spoiler topic thread, because otherwise there's gonna be a lot of black txt to highlight from here on out. But for now, I'll just put my whole comments in a spoiler, because what I have to say is too intermingled to separate:
My thoughts on Last night's Angel Episode: Anyone want to wager how long it takes for Wolfram and Hart to go broke with Angel at the helm?? :) With him killing off their top clients week after week, the place is going to swim in red ink faster than a Jaws Marathon. I like the new take-charge Fred. To those who say that Amy Acker is not a hottie, I scoff and point to her title shot in the opening credits. :D I enjoyed Spike's apparent betrayal to the Necromancer. The funny thing about the way Marsters plays Spike, is that any betrayals by him are perfectly believable - perhaps it's the deadpan "change-in-a-second" look on his face when he does it. The Necromancer is expecting a hard convincing, and whereas most people might be wary of someone who switched alleigances that quickly, with Spike it works. SO, Buffy's in Europe, huh? With Giles, I guess, or on her own doing the whole "backpack and slay in the mediterranean countryside" thing? Even though she won't be a regular and is doing her own movie thing, it will be good to hopefully see S.M. Gellar on a few cameos. Finally, Spike's revelation about how he's 'slipping', and where he's going: That was not only shocking, it was rough. Having become a steady Spike fan over the past three years, I have to say, that really blows. Murderous past or not, he doesn't deserve that - not after all he's done for the powers that be, and for Angel and the Scoobies. I certainly hope they are not bringing James over to be a one-shot sympathy plot, because I enjoy his character now far too much. I know why he wound up that way (W&H I really think Angel was meant to be the victim here), but it also leaves the HUGE gaping question of why they gave Angel the Amulet back.
All in all, the humor grabs me, the plot keeps me, and I am Joss's slave every Wednesday for an hour. This season has a lot of promise - a lot more than I at first thought. We've got a Dodge Viper with necro-tint, a wise-cracking peroxide-head, Bosses that want us dead as well as makin' a profit, and an hour before sunup. Let's hit it. :)
