Andy said how it is supposed to work. He has stated where errors were made. You are correct in saying that no official errata has been released. When errata is released, it will follow what Andy has passed down. If you want to run your game with magical beast companions and wildshaped druids that do not gain traits, be my guest. You'll either change over when the errata is released or house rule it away.
