Animal Lord (MotW) question - how useful farspeech, etc.?

Hi guys,

Has anyone here played an Animal Lord (I have seen a few people have on a previous thread ...)

The question is:

How useful is farspeech, animal sense, and share perceptions? This and animal bond seem to be the only truly different stuff from a high level druid and a high level animal lord (well, possibly the wildshape legendary, but let's leave that alone for now).

So how much do you use it? Note you can get Speaking Wildshape, and thus achieve a similar effect (with many types of animals).

Any suggestions?

It depends on what kind of animal you are an animal lord of. A cat lord is an urban reconaissance god - just think of all the conversations people have with a cat in the room, or all the places that a cat can wander into unobtrusively. Rats are likewise useful, and birds are even more useful for recon in the wild.

Cat Lord is one of my absolute favorite PrCs. It combines nasty combat abilities (legendary tiger anyone?) with spells, major reconaissance and spying, and loads of style.

Depends on the animal you chose.

A birdlord, holy crap, I think they would know just about everything going on around them for miles.

Yeah, I've made the same assumptions ... I just wonder if anyone has actually tried it in game terms.

That is, how has this sort of thing played out. Birdlord definitely seems on the "I can see everything" scale, while bearlord seems to be on the "I might find one other bear in 100 sq miles" scale.
