Anime d20

I was wondering if anyone has, plans, knows of any anime themed d20 games. Anyone playing a d20 game of DBZ? Ghost in the Shell? Have you come up with any rules that others would be interested in?

Asking for an "anime theme" is like asking for a "movie theme". Which anime do you mean, precisely? Even looking strictly at the fantasy ones, Slayers is very different to Ninja Scroll, is very different to Lodoss War, for example.

Yes to Anime, but not for d20, I'm afraid. I've even run a Dirty Pair world game.:)

For DBZ in any game system, I'd suggest you avoid the 'it takes 30d6 to blow up the world' syndrome. Have attacks of all types do dramatic damage to the scenery. Higher level characters can take planet destroying attacks and bounce right back.

And if you want to be really faithful to genre, characters should collect levels several at a time as part of a power up. Then the next scene meet someone new who's even more powerful still.:)

So far the only true anime d20 games are the Slayers d20 game coming out this spring, and the BESM d20 rules this summer, both by the same company (Guardians of Order). BESM (Big Eyes Small Mouth) is a set of generic rules for anime-style roleplaying.

Beyond that, there are no anime d20 games or rules (fan-made ones notwithstanding). Many anime titles have been made into RPGs by various companies, but few seem eager or willing to make those titles into d20 games (which is a pity).

See this thread http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?threadid=36236 for more about Dragonball d20.

Nice test. I half expected to be Vegita but I ended up being Cell. "Evil and Dark, I am the symbol of perfection. "

I suppose I can live with that.:)

I still have the Bubblegum Crisis books done in the Fuzion system. Not bad.

I run an anime campaign, but not in d20.

For a futuristic game, I much prefer the (far superior for sci-fi) Fuzion rules. I run a mashed-together universe consisting of Dirty Pair, Macross, Ghost in the Shell, Bubblegum Crisis, Appleseed, Tank Police, and more.

[Black Omega: Dirty Pair! Woo-hoo!]

Once again I'll plug the anime feats I created. Just one note these were originally created to be humorous and so no consideration was given to balance, and I haven't fiddled with them sense I first typed them. I think some of them are usable and others could be with a little tweaking.

That was hilarious. I'm now considering Jiggly Anatomy for my next PC, along with Improbably Huge Weapon: Greatgreatgreatsword. But imagine combining swift of foot, and mighty leap in a Barbarian! An 80 foot horizontal jump! WOO!

Those are great Oni. I'm planning a d20 mod camp using a lot of stuff from Full Metal Panic. When i posted this I had just watched two episodes of GITS: Stand Alone Complex. It seems like it would be a cool adventure idea but I don't know how much you could incorparate with out breaking rules. Before Epic level book came out I thought for sure that they would have some sort of energy blast for monks but...no dice. After reading the link I'm really curious to see how M&M holds up to DBZ. My dm plans to run M&M soon so I might try a Read or Die type character. Yomiko is just awsome.
