{Announce} Metacreator Now Supports Third Edition SRD

Alter Ego Software announces the release of Metacreator 3.2.5 and several
new products, now available at http://www.alteregosoftware.com and RPGNow.

New game system templates include:

* RPG Third Edition for the System Reference Document, published by Wizards
of the Coast, Inc. This template includes fantasy, modern and psionic characters as well as monsters as characters or in encounters. It supports templates and prestige classes, and allows quick character advancement for creating powerful NPCs. The 3.5 update will be available as a free download this fall to third edition SRD template owners.

* Call of Cthulhu, published by Chaosium, Inc.

* Five-Point Fudge and Terra Incognita, published by Grey Ghost Press, Inc., have been added to the Fudge template.

Alter Ego Software also offers templates for:

* Ars Magica published by Atlas Games.

* CORPS published by BTRC.

Metacreator is compatible with GURPS Character Builder published by Steve Jackson Games.

The Metacreator product line by Alter Ego Software provides complete character management for Roleplaying game systems. It consists of a master application, Metacreator, and ready-to-use accessory game system templates. The software includes all the tools and help manual to customize the data files or even make your own game system template.

Metacreator features include all character abilities, powers, skills, spells, feats, etc., automatic calculation of bonuses due to equipment, feats or other special abilities, encounter generation, automatic character advancement, character history, treasure generation, die roller, name finder and a wide variety of character sheet printing options. Metacreator stores all the data for a given game system in external text files. This makes it perfect for use with the OGL and also allows a great deal of customizability for users since you can modify every aspect of how it handles a game system.
 

All of the template data is stored in text files. These can be read, edited, copied and new data files can be created.

There is some specific character advancement information that is not available in the SRD, nor in the Metacreator SRD template. The user is guided as to how to enter that data. It is suggested that he refer to the Core Rulebooks published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc. for this step.
