Napalm Fish (Small Outsider) Hit Dice: 4d8+12 (30) Initiative: +5 (Dex) Speed: 0 ft., fly 30 ft. (perfect) AC: 16 (+5 Dex, +1 Size) Attacks: scorch +9 melee Damage: scorch (see below) Face/Reach: 5 ft. by 5 ft./ 5 ft. Special attacks: scorch, splatter Special Qualities: arrow evasion, immunities, damage resistance 10/+1, fire resistance 5 Saves: Fort +7, Ref +4, Will +4 Abilities: Str 10, Dex 20, Con 16, Int 6, Wis 14, Cha 8 Skills: Spot +8, Listen +8, Hide +11, Search+4 Feats: weapon finesse (scorch) Climate/Terrain: any land or underground Organization: solitary, pair or cluster (6-11) Challenge Rating: Treasure: none Alignment: always neutral Advancement: 5 - 8 HD (Small), 9 - 12 HD (Medium) The Napalm Fish is a strange, flying flame creature. The Napalm Fish appears to be a column of flame surrounded by a milky corona of a strange liquid akin to napalm. It seems like it would be a creature from the elemental plane of Fire, but it is in fact an Outsider. It also bears a vague resemblance to a jellyfish, but there the resemblance ends. The Napalm Fish spends its entire existence in the air. These creatures feed on scorched matter, and generally feed by burning things and creatures. Combat: The Napalm Fish usually charges an opponent, scorching it with its flames. When struck, it splatters opponents with napalm. When the Napalm Fish is slain, the fire goes out and it falls to the ground in a heap of jelly-like material, which can be scooped and used as Alchemist's fire (2d4 uses). Scorch (Ex): The Napalm Fish's intense heat is enough to scorch and char anything, dealing 2d6 points of fire damage per round of contact. Flammable materials such as cloth, paper, parchment, and thin wood burn if the flames touch them. Splatter (Ex): Striking the Napalm Fish with any weapon causes it to shower the immediate area with drops of burning napalm. Any creature within 5 feet takes 1d6 points of flame damage (Fort save for half, DC 15), and takes 1 point of damage (Fort save for none, DC 15) for 2 more rounds before the napalm is consumed. Arrow evasion (Ex): The Napalm Fish is mostly fire, and so it is difficult to hit with missile attacks, which have a 20% chance of missing the creature outright. Immunities: Although the Napalm Fish is not an elemental, it shares some of those traits. It is immune to poison, sleep, paralysis, and stunning. Because it has no clear front or back, it is not subject to critical hits or flanking. The Napalm Fish was inspired by the creatures on the cover of Faith No More's album "The Real Thing." It is most likely that these are the inspiration for the title of one of the songs therein "Jellyfish from Mars."
