I think that there are two major fantasy archetypes that need to be touched. By complete coincidence, they are both in the DLCS, in a fairly nice form. I'm not even a Dragonlance fan, but I keep meaning to pick up the setting book mainly for those classes (and anything else I can pillage for my Realms game). The Noble/Courtier A socialite who isn't a spellcasting musician who cannot be lawful (ala Bard) or is a backstabbing trap-finding guy (thief). This is the PC version of the Aristocrat class (much like Fighter is a PC version of Warrior and Cleric is the PC version of Adept). Not neccesarily an actual member of the nobility (in the social class sense of the word), but a character who succeeds through socialization instead of attack-rolls and spells. It's a pretty standard fantasy archetype (Elrond would probably be a multiclass Cleric/Noble, some concepts of King Arthur could make him a multiclass Paladin/Noble, there are so many nobles all over Wheel of Time and Dragonlance that WotC put that class in those d20 games as a core class), and the only reason I don't think it has been core rules yet is that it's not a very hack n' slash friendly class, and it shows D&D's wargaming/combat game roots. Noble could also be used as a rich-merchant or trader class, if you give it features like Resource Access (from the Star Wars noble), where every month he can make a check and gain money from it (not huge amounts, but enough for a good lifestyle and decent but non-magical equipment), Contacts, Favors and other trappings of the SW-RCR & WoT noble classes. The Mystic/Priest. A divine spellcaster who represents the less militant orders of the clergy. In 2e this was often done with the "specialty priest" classes, and this class can also represent someone who has a personal, direct relationship with a divine force and doesn't have to strap on heavy armor and turn undead to cast divine magic. So it combines the "less-combattive priest" archetype with the "spontaneous divine caster" role that is missing. Personally, I think the DLCS Mystic (from what I saw in the preview .pdf I have) is best for this (I don't like Favored Soul, the whole sprouting-wings thing just lost me).
