Another Dragonstar question

Another question regarding Dragonstar. Weapon Proficiencies. 1)How do you handle the arcahic and modern wp? Do all modern characters have both archaic and modern wp? This would be easiest but makes the least sense. In a modern world, learning how to use a sword would be a speciality. 2) What about the wp that characters start out with? I have problems with a wizard being able to use such items as a compound bow. An arcahic wizard wouldn't be able to use a long bow. Seems strange...

If your character does not have the Technical Proficiency feat, you cannot use any of the futuristics weapons. While a fighter can use simple and martial weapons, they're limited to the primitive ones until he acquires Technical Proficiency. Once he does, he can use any simple and martial weapons, primitive and futuristics.

From what I read, if you're a resident of the Dragon Empire, then you gain the Technical Proficiency feat for free, with the exception of the barbarians.

By the rules, you are proficient in all weapons, primitive and modern, with the feats.

And, btw, in Dragonstar Wizards can use Blaster Rifles. Who needs compound bows?
