I'm starting to think there should be a section just for these... Anyway, I should preempt this by saying I observed these events from a player's perspective, not a DM's, so perhaps I found this all the more irritating because of it. Our Group was as follows (so I can refer to people by name): ~Tak Battlehammer (Paladin) (me) ~Jasmine (Sorcerer/Rogue) ~Aeril Talengoren (Sorcerer) ~Keira (Cleric) ~Mr. Odz and Mr. Enz (Wizards) We were proceeding along a forest trail, when we hear a pained roar coming from the woods to our left. We investigate, and discover a small, wounded Deinonychus being savaged by a pair of Velociraptors. I insist that we assist it, and the rest of the party quickly agree. I hit the high Init, and whang one of them but good. Keira goes next, and does the same. Mr. Odz and Mr. Enz go next, and conjure up some illusory celestial dire badgers to distract the raptors. Then it's Aeril's turn. He uses Scorching Ray on one of them, reducing it to single-digit HP. Jasmine comes up, turns towards Aeril, and fires an arrow at him. After she rolls and misses, she claims she "purposefully missed". She says it was "supposed to be a warning." When we inquire as to what she was warning against, she says, "don't use magic on them. That's evil." Now, let's examine this a bit. She's a [bold]SORCERER[/bold]. I whang her but good with my fist, obviously doing subdual damage, and tell her never to attack a party member through lethal force ever again. Beating someone about the head to bring them to their senses is one thing, but risking their death is something else entirely. This is not the first time she has purposefully distanced herself from the group. After the session, I mention to her that her character is an absolute bitch. She responds, "No she's not... she's just interesting..." Correct me if I'm wrong, but being randomly offended at things and purposefully distancing yourself from the rest of the party does not make one interesting, does it? Has anyone else had such an experience?
