Here is the second of my five new giants, the Highland Giant. Comments and constructive critisism is welcomed. Challenge Rating: 7 Treasure: Half Standard Alignment: Usually chaotic neutral Advancement: By character class Highland Giants are one of the seven races of giants native to the oriental continent of Rhiran (the others being: Bamboo, Jade, Lowland, Obsidian, the Ogre Mage, and the Wang Liang.) Highland looks much like large muscular humans, with inporportionatly small heads. Their thick hides are a light grey-brown in color and their eyes are usually red or yellow. They are usually dressed in the hides of slain animals, giving them protection equivalent of Hide Armor. They live to reach an age of around 150 years. Combat: Generally peaceful, Highland Giants can be fierce combatants if angered. Lacking most of the intelligence of their bretheren, the standard Highland Giant tactic is facing the problem head on, charging into combat and fighting until either they or their opponents are dead. Rage (Ex): If a highland giant is reduced to half it's hitpoints or less in combat, it flies into a berserker rage, that lasts until either it or it's opponent is slain. During the rage the Highland Giant gets a +4 circumstance bonus to str, and a +2 circumstance bonus to Con. And may make one additional attack at it's full attack bonus -5 each round. But due to it's frenzy, the Highland Giant recieves a -2 circumstance penalty to Int and AC. Highland Giant Society: Highland giants are generally peace loving, preferring to live a simple hunter/gatherers, occassionally trading with humans and other races. They will generally not attack unless attacked first. Highland giant tribes are usually ruled by the strongest individual, wheter the leader is male or female, matters little to these giants. They have been known to hunt large prey such as dire animals and some types of spirit drakes. Highland Giant Characters: A highland giants favored class is barbarian, and most highland giant leaders are barbarians. Highland Giant shamans usually choose among the following domains: Ancestor, Community, Nature, Stone, or Wood, but are by no means limited to these choices. Highland giants can never become the following classes: Monk, Samurai, Shugenja, Sohei, and Wu Jen. Since they lack the intelligence and discipline for these classes. A highland giants ECL is: +10 So what do you think?
