How's that for a lot of K's? I got a request for this kaiju and decided, why not? So here you go. Comments, questions, compliments and flames are all appreciated. The kamakiras, to those non-kaiju obsessives, was in Son of Godzilla (1968), and for all of you playing along at home, this kaiju is 100% 3.5 compatable. Kamakiras Colossal Magical Beast (Kaiju) Hit Dice: 44d10+ (682 hp) Initiative: +3 Speed: 30ft, fly 50ft (poor) AC: 33 (-8 size, -1 Dex, +32 natural) Base Attack/Grapple: +44/+78 Attacks: 2 claws +54 melee, bite +54 melee Damage: Claw 3d8+18, bite 5d4+9 Face/Reach: 80ft/20ft Special Attacks: Improved grab, squeeze, windstorm Special Qualities: Darkvision 60ft, DR 20/adamantine, electricity resistance 50, immune to mind-influencing effects, SR 32 Saves: Fort +36, Ref +23, Will +16 Abilities: Str 47, Dex 8, Con 31, Int 1, Wis 14, Cha 31 Skills: Hide +9*, Move Silently +22 Feats: Blind-fight, Cleave, Flyby Attack, Great Cleave, Great Fortitude, Improved Critical (claw, bite), Improved Initiative, Improved Multiattack, Multiattack, Power Attack, Skill Focus (hide), Weapon Focus (claw, bite) Climate/Terrain: Warm forest Organization: Solitary, pair or swarm (4-12) CR: 22 Treasure: None Alignment: Always neutral The kamakiras are a species of giant, predatory, praying mantises. A kamakiras resembles an overly large greenish-brown praying mantis in almost every respect, the only difference being the antennae oddly positioned under the orange eyes. A kamakiras is about 150 feet long, and about 75 feet tall. The first kamakiras were created in an ancient arcane experiment in large-scale weather control; the electrical stimulation from lightning strikes combining with latent magical energy caused these already large praying mantises to become even larger. Kamakiras are pack hunters, feeding on dinosaurs, large mammals and the eggs of dragons. Combat Like most kaiju, kamakiras often ignore creatures the size of humans unless grievously injured by them. They often use their wingstorm ability to blow away opposition, while prey items are grapped and squeezed to death in their massive claws. Improved Grab (Ex): Whenever a kamakiras hits an opponent with his claw attack, it may make a grapple check as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity (grapple bonus +78). If it gets a hold, it can choose to conduct the grapple normally, or only hold the opponent in his claws (-20 to all grapple checks, but the kamakiras is not considered grappled). Regardless of how the grapple is conducted, the opponent takes automatic claw damage each round it is held, and if the grapple is conducted normally, the opponent takes squeeze damage instead. Squeeze (Ex): Each round a kamakiras makes a successful grapple check on an opponent, that opponent takes 6d8+21 points of damage. Wingstorm (Ex): As a move-equivalent action, a kamakiras may fan its wings as to create a 100ft cone of air that acts as a hurricane (see page 87 of the DMG). It can do this for as many rounds as it chooses to. Skills: Against a backgroung of foliage, a kamakiras gains a +8 bonus to all Hide checks (included in the stat block). Demiurge out. Edit: Increased CR, and therefore SR, to something more appropriate than what the template suggests.
