Another systems Mecha (APeS) power cores for free

First Post
Hi I see that another system has released its power cores for Mecha for free. I had developed and released to this site some time ago my own version, and it is free as well :)

I call them APeS but the data is very usable for d20 F mecha. enjoy

I'm a little confused by some elements of your APeS system, Aussiegamer.

Let's look at your Fusion Generator as an example:

FUSION GENERATOR (PL 6)
This provides enough power for most vehicles. It is far safer for vehicles and does not require shielding. Due to the sheer output power of the generator it grants a bonus +1 acceleration and +1 to all energy weapons that the vehicles uses.
If the generator gets a critical hit it automatically shuts down but on a rare occasion (1in20) the automatic shut down does not work. It will explode doing 10d6x100damage to everything within 50 squares, in 3d4 rounds
Slot Size: 1.
Fuel: Yes.
Fuel use rate: 0.1
Fuel cost DC: 29
APeS allowed: Yes
Purchase DC: 20 + one-half the base purchase DC of the vehicle.

Now, I understand that these generators are meant for APeS AND vehicles, so not all the rules apply to APeS. The first thing that confuses me is the line "Due to the sheer output power of the generator it grants a bonus +1 acceleration and +1 to all energy weapons that the vehicles uses." Now, I know that APeS ignore your acceleration mechanic (because they move like characters), but what is this bonus to energy weapons? Is it a bonus to attack rolls or damage rolls? A few of your other generators carry a similar line and they leave me similarily confused.

My other confusion is your Fuel Use Rate mechanic. You state in the introduction to Generators that each vehicle/APeS carries 30 hrs worth of fuel. You also then include an statistic with each generator that shows how fast each one uses that 30 hrs worth of fuel. Am I to understand that the Fusion Generator can last for 300 hrs before refueling? If this is so, then I think your current format for presenting Fuel Usage and uptime is a little counter-intuitive. If I'm mistaken in my interpretation, or if I've done my math wrong, please let me know.

On the whole, your system is interesting, but I think it suffers a bit from your attempt to merge vehicluar systems and mecha systems. There are some areas that found me very confused (like "Engines", where it doesn't really explain anywhere that these are for flight, and I was wondering if they were the APeS power cores or not). Also, your MC APeS size leaves me a little puzzled. It doesn't follow the logical progression of size category stats. In fact, it doesn't even mention what "MC" stands for. Also, I have no idea what "DR Adjustment" is, as it's not explained in the APeS document.

ApeS are vehicles, the d20 F system had them in this hybrid weird spot that makes more problems than it solves.

Yes APeS have a set rate of movement. So in the end they are a hybrid in mine as well but
they lean more towards vehicle but act as creatures for combat and movement.

OK I see the problem it is to the damage only. I will go fix that up.

Nope exactly correct, all have a 30 hour tank and use that 30 hours differently. I don't want to put 30 litres or such as it is easier to have just a time frame.

It has to be as they are vehicles and should be treated that way.

The MC is meduim colossal, the size are in sizes in combat file.

I am redoing the APeS file now so this will help me thanks.

The DR modifier, I presume that is what you are asking about, is the size mod. I should explain those bits more, again thanks. :)

You need to look at the size mod to see how the size mod changes from doubling to just -2 per size increase until it gets to space crafts.
